Raphael Zinner
Raphael Zinner has been a member of the Nerida Quartet since 2026.
Raphael began taking cello lessons at the age of four. He studied with Troels Svane and Peter Bruns. Attending masterclasses with Eberhard Feltz, David Geringas, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Gustav Rivinius and others provided him with further important musical inspiration. As a three-time first-prize winner of “Jugend musiziert” national competition, Raphael has already won numerous other prizes, including at international competitions such as the Heran Competition in the Czech Republic, the International Cello Competition in Liezen Austria, and the David Popper Cello Competition in Hungary.
In addition to his work as a soloist, he is a passionate chamber musician. With his piano trio, he has performed at venues including the Berlin Philharmonie, as well as in Boston and Washington. As a prize winner of the 27th Competition of the Deutsche Musikinstrumentenfonds, he played a cello by Niccolò Bianchi, Genoa 1871, for many years.
In 2022, Raphael Zinner passed the audition and became an academist of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. In 2023, while still a member of the academy, the talented young cellist successfully completed his probationary year with the orchestra and has been a full member since 2024.
